Truthfully, I can’t think of how to start this blog, the direction I want it to go in, or if it’s even going to be good enough to post, but when the Scene Invader boys say they need a blog out of me ASAP, I ask ‘em how high, fellas. I figure with Valentine’s Day upon us, I’d break down some Do’s and Don’ts for the single folks out there. How to navigate Cupid’s big day, when all you have is a bunch of Netflix and no “chill” in sight. I’ll throw you a few scenarios you can hopefully avoid and a nice relatable movie to watch instead. The movies will either be <3 stories or </3 stories.

I can’t get enough of this show. Black Mirror is one of the most brilliant TV series ever made. There are only 19 episodes stretched out through 4 seasons, and creator Charlie Brooker always leaves his fans wanting more. The thing is, I have started to become suspicious that every single episode of Black Mirror takes place in the same fucked up dystopian future, just spread out on an ever expanding timeline. A Black Mirror-verse, you could say.

For a lot of people, the holidays are a tough time; a constant reminder of the friends and family we’ve lost over the years. The grieving amps up an extra notch once that first Christmas jingle hits the airwaves and we begin to miss the ones we’ve loved. Since, as far as I can tell, our earth exists on a linear plane of absolute time and space, so it’s looking pretty likely that we’ll never see those folks again. It’s a bummer, I know. But that’s not what I’m here for right now. What about our favorite characters from movies and TV that have touched our lives year after year, premier after premier, finale after finale? Who’s to stop us from celebrating with some old familiar faces when on-demand is always at our fingertips and the physical laws of our universe don’t exist in theirs?

Let’s Binge

Apparently, from what I’ve heard, Avengers: Infinity War is supposed to be the biggest superhero movie to date. I really have no idea, it’s just what people are saying and I want to be a part of it. The amount of buzz behind this movie is insane. After only one day, the new trailer is the most watched of all time [over 230 million in 24 hours across YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter]. So where does that leave people like you and me, who are currently on the outside looking in? Well… still the outside of course, but don’t worry, we’ll get in. What I’m attempting to do here [with a little help of the incredibly well versed Scene Invaders guys] is provide a detailed breakdown of how to get things started and where to go from there.
